Sandwell African Caribbean Mental Health Foundation (SACMHF) is a registered charity which delivers a range of culturally responsive services for people from Black African, Caribbean, Black dual heritage who are recovering from severe and enduring mental ill health their families, carers and the wider community.
These services aim to support people to recover and manage their illness as independently as possible. The services delivered include peer support, volunteering opportunities, outreach client and family support, building futures project supporting ex-offenders, carers support group and a user led group known as Ujima. These services are characterised by recovery and support planning, wellbeing monitoring via the use of a wellbeing scale, a user led social activity schedule and co design activities to plan and develop the organisations services and projects.
