Finding my voice again

I had really bad anxiety and depression, and because of my selective mutism I found it especially hard to be around people or speak in busy situations.

I had spent a long time shut away and just wanted to feel normal and less afraid of everyday life. The support gave me someone who listened, comforted me, and helped me begin to speak more, go out more, and feel better about myself.

I can now do more on my own, talk to people more easily, and I feel happier, less angry and less weighed down than I did before. I’m not as miserable as I was, and I feel like a different person. For now, I want to focus on my exams and keep building on the progress I’ve made.

The kindness of the support has meant a lot to me.
