I was isolated and on my own. I didn’t really speak to anyone. I hadn’t got any friends, so I was really struggling with loneliness. When I came to you I was feeling that I didn’t want to be here anymore – I’d had enough.
I had a PIP assessment and was asked by the adviser about how I was feeling. I told her that I didn’t want to be here anymore. She advised me to contact my GP so I did. After explaining how I was feeling. I was referred by my GP to TT+. I’d been feeling this way for at least the past 12 months. I wanted to get better and have the opportunity to say what I had been feeling.
My therapist gave me activities such as breathing exercises to help me with my anxiety. The talking really helped, allowing me to express my feelings. Now I am feeling more confident, and have been able to talk to new people, joining group social activities at the community venue where I have my counselling.
Talking to someone with knowledge has really helped me. I have been able to make new friends by attending the other activities of Life in Community. I feel bit better – I’m not as lonely as I was because I have been able to make new friends. My suicidal thoughts have calmed down, because I have been able to speak to my therapist and come to the sessions. It’s made me realise I can get help.
I’m going to keep coming to the sessions with Life in Community. Thank you, for being there!
I feel a bit better now, less alone, and more able to see that help is there when I need it.
