A work in progress

To be honest, I was suffering so badly with anxiety that I could barely leave the house. My head felt chaotic, noisy and exhausting, and I could feel myself slipping back towards a very dark place. I needed help to stop everything building up inside me.

The sessions gave me something to look forward to and made it easier to start talking without feeling pushed. The support helped me see that even small steps are achievements, and that has mattered more than I can say.

I am now doing more than I was, including managing some of the school run again, and I am learning ways to distract myself and cope when my anxiety rises. One of the biggest benefits has simply been knowing that someone is there for me and won’t judge me.

Next, I want to find more balance in myself so that life does not feel so all-or-nothing.

Thank you for being so lovely. Support like this matters so much, especially when you do not have a family support network around you.

I still have work to do, but I now feel like I have support, and that makes a huge difference.
