Parenting through grief

I was struggling because someone very important in my child’s life had died, and I had so much grief and unfinished emotion tied up in that loss. I also had other bereavements around me, and I felt like I was carrying everything with very little space to talk openly about it.

The support came into my life at the right time. I was listened to, what mattered was remembered, and I was given consistent support when I really needed it.

The biggest difference has been having someone who understood what was going on and helped me make sense of my thoughts, my reactions and the pain I was carrying. The support has helped me understand more about what I have been through and why I feel the way I do.

I am trying to focus on closure, on taking life one day at a time, and on being there for my child. Thank you so much. I appreciate all the help and everything that has been said to me.

I still have the feelings, but I understand them better now, and I know they are not the end of the world.
